I am soooo happy right now. Glowing actually. You see, in case you’re not a football fan, last night the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the hated Baltimore Ravens in the AFC championship game for the right to go to the Super Bowl.

The game ended up being much closer than it should have been as the Steelers completely dominated the stats. It just didn’t translate into a big lead as I was forced to sweat out the 4th quarter as the Ravens closed in.

Thanks to my main man Troy Polamalu’s interception and return for a touchdown Pittsburgh was able to close out the game and give all of Steeler nation a reason to start celebrating. I’m happy for the Cardinals and Kurt Warner but damn if I don’t want to become the first team with 6 Super Bowl wins!

Their defense and special teams played well enough overall to win, even with that punt returned for a touchdown. My thought is that if the offense would have generated even a modicum of yardage in the second half, then there wouldn’t have been a problem. They are still 3-1 and have a full game lead in the division. Thankfully, the hated Ravens lost to the Browns so it wasn’t a complete waste of a day….

That’s right, it’s almost halfway through the first quarter of the first game of the NFL’s regular season. Who is playing? Why no other than the WORLD CHAMPION PITTSBURG STEELERS!!!! They’re squaring off at home against the Miami Dolphins. I’m kinda worried since Ben Rothelisburger is out and the Dolphins are much improved this year. [...]

I’m thinking that the Steelers will squeeze out a win on the ground… say 10-7 or so.
