This weekend I'll be heading up to my old stomping grounds in PA for a much-needed ski getaway. I haven't been to Ski Roundtop since 1992 or 1993. That's a heck of a long time considering how much time that I spent there back in my high school days. I also haven't been on skis probably since 1999 when I was working at the ski slopes up at Snoqualmie Falls in WA.
I'm sure that I will probably end up being very sore come Monday once I'm back home but it will be so worth it to actually glide down the snow again. The only downside is that it's supposed fairly nice Monday and with me being off work it would be nice to get a round of golf in. Now THAT would be a fun-filled weekend!
I'll post pictures when I get home.
Just got home after watching my beloved Pittsburgh Steelers lay a huge egg today in Arizona. Their defense and special teams played well enough overall to win, even with that punt returned for a touchdown. My thought is that if the offense would have generated even a modicum of yardage in the second half, then there wouldn't have been a problem. They are still 3-1 and have a full game lead in the division. Thankfully, the hated Ravens lost to the Browns so it wasn't a complete waste of a day....
Got back yesterday from a great trip to Dallas to see a Rangers baseball game and a Stars hockey game. Here's a pick of Stephanie and I at the Ballpark in Arlington:

Well not really, but it will be running for the farthest distance that I've ever done. The Army Ten Miler is an annual ten mile race here in DC. It is open to the general public although the military is a big chunk of the field. I have decided that I'm going to attempt to run this thing even though I've never run 10 miles at once in my life. I just figure that I need an excuse to get in really good shape this year apart from my twice-annual PT test. That is only a two mile run and so requires speed more than pure endurance.
This will also give me more excuses to use my Nike+ kit for my iPod. It's a neat $30 add-on for an iPod nano that works like a fancy pedometer, uploading stats to a neat website. I've started linking some stats on the right so that anybody can keep track of how I'm doing. I'll update my progress as I go along and we'll see how I do.
That's right, it's almost halfway through the first quarter of the first game of the NFL's regular season. Who is playing? Why no other than the WORLD

CHAMPION PITTSBURG STEELERS!!!! They're squaring off at home against the Miami Dolphins. I'm kinda worried since Ben Rothelisburger is out and the Dolphins are much improved this year. I'm thinking that the Steelers will squeeze out a win on the ground... say 10-7 or so.
