This week included a killer grocery shopping trip. I swear our receipt was like two feet long! So I should have most everything on hand no matter what I want to make for awhile. So tonight I think I’m going to make my lovely fiancee a yummy meal since he has to work all day.
I have a pretty good idea of what I”m going to make but I won’t post it here yet as I want it to be a surprise for him. I’ll post the pics, food and results tomorrow!
Well, I have been a little neglectful of my blog lately, but a lot has been going on!!!
1. I got engaged! Jason proposed Sept 10th!
2. His parents where here for dinner on Thursday night. I cooked stuffed shells for them.
3. We went to San Francisco for a long weekend which was wonderful, but left us catching up on our sleep all week long!
You can check out Jason’s page for a link to some pics when his parents were here and they toured downtown DC for a bit. And when I go purchase a new cord for my camera I will download our San Fran pics!!
A pretty basic week. We actually had a break from the 100 degree summer heat and enjoyed jeans and sweat shirts this week!
8/20 – Nothing really original here, it was a LONG day and we were both beat!! So we ordered pizza!
8/21 – Jason made lasagna and it was really good!
8/22 – Seared tuna and chicken satays were delicious at McCormick & Schmicks
8/23 – Left over lasagna, I think I like it better left over
8/24 – Yummy sushi!!!
8/25 – BBQ chicken, baked potatoes, salad
It is a beautiful thing, so pretty just too look at! It’s my first Le Creuset item, a Square Baking dish.
I was so excited to get it! We went into the Marshall’s that’s in the Pentagon Center. Having never gone in before Jason decided it was time for a visit. We found a nice Yankee Candle and this wonderful dish. Even better it was $12.95!!!! The best online sale price I could find was $29.99 so I think we definitely scored big!
I can’t wait to use it and the best thing is that it’s dishwasher safe! My great pots and pans are lovely to cook in but having to hand wash them can be a pain (for Jason – I don’t do dishes!!)
Highlight for tomorrow night – Jason is making lasagna! This means no cooking for me, leftovers for at least one night, and lunch for a day or two!! Yay!!!
Well this week wasn’t much a foodie brag week as I didn’t cook a thing!!! It was a foodie vacation. We went to Hershey PA for my company’s yearly family getaway for the weekend which consisted of some great food!!!
