Get This Party Started

Ok, so it’s not really starting the party but performing CPR. I noticed today that I had actually only written one blog post for the entire year. There’s not one particular reason that I can point to which caused this. I can’t say that my life is any busier than it was before. If I had to guess I would say that with the proliferation of sites such as Twitter and Facebook I sort of run out of things to say.

I don’t really talk that much to begin with really and while I by no means consider myself an introvert I also don’t go out of my way to get into deep ‘life’ discussions. However, I feel that writing does make your mind sharp and helps to sort out your thoughts. So I am going to attempt and commit to writing more again. I’m also going to try and encourage Steph to start posting some of her cooking stuff here again as well. Those were some of my favorite times of the week when we’d actually cook together, experimenting in new things, taking pictures to document the results. In honor of that here’s a picture of the whole fish that we had shared at Kushi Izakaya a couple of weeks ago.

We’ll see how long this ends up lasting but over the years (since 2005 with the blog and 1998 for brdweb.com) I’ve gone through many ebbs and flows of posting to this site so no reason to just give up now.

I’m Officially Getting Fat

So I step on the scale tonight and am shocked when I see 189lbs. I know that I’ve been performing poorly on the workouts lately, becoming very lazy. In the past few weeks however, I’ve become a glutton with my eating and stuffing myself at every opportunity.

Overall I’m very disappointed in myself. At one point since moving to DC I had been getting quite overweight, tipping the scales at 198 which is the most I’ve ever weighed. This past summer I went down to 176 at the low point and for the most part was hovering about 180-184.

This is unacceptable and it’s going to change. Steph is also unhappy with how married life has been impacting our waistlines so we’re going to team up and do it together. I’ll be tracking my progress with a website called skinnyr. This site provides the graph which you can see to the right so that you can follow along and hopefully provide some encouragement! The goal for now is 172, which I know is possible. Can’t wait to feel my pants loose around my waist again….

New Car

Just thought that I would take the time to post some pictures of our recently purchased car. Stephanie has been drooling over the BMW 3-series convertible since they released it in a hard-top for the 2007 model year. We’d already decided to get rid of my Tiburon sooner rather than later and the Saab will be paid off this winter but still has almost 3 years left on the extended warranty, so no time like the present! And so I present to you ‘Nina’, which is the name which Stephanie has christened this Silver 2007 BMW 328 convertible that is now residing in our parking garage.

Officially Hitched

So last weekend we officially got hitched! It was a beautiful setting with just perfect weather. Stephanie and I will be sending out information soon to everybody about the party/reception that we’ll be having next month. For now, head over to Flickr to check out the pictures!
