Well, thanks to Al’s great work in generating interest from Full Tilt in sponsoring our little private tournies, there is a great prize pool available for the BBT3. Most of the details can be found in this post from Al and I’m going to actually try and play some of these and win my seat to the WSOP this year.

Well, we’re currently at the third break of the WBCOOP. If you want to know what that means, just look it up :) Anyway, it’s a freeroll for bloggers that has a $40k prize pool. There are now 188 left out of the 1337 that started. The prize bubble starts at 81st place with some schwag and 1st place is a $12k prize package to the PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. A bunch of WPBT members are still in it so hopefully if I don’t win then I’ll at least know the winner.

At the same time we recently excited the 2nd hour of a $10 rebuy, also on Stars. I’m sitting at about 2k above average with ~600 people left after over 2000 started. The top 227 spots pay in that one with a $15k first prize. So it’s possible (although highly unlikely) that I could end up winning almost $30k in the next few hours. Wouldn’t that be nice?

So if you’re not busy then come rail me!

Just won a seat into tonight’s 750k guarantee on FullTilt. It was a $24+2 mtt satellite with 35 seats. Took over the chip lead with about 75 left, sat out for a long time before I had to come back as people were taking way too long to bust and my stack was getting whittled down. Ended up about 10 from the bubble when it burst.

At the same time I’ve been playing a $24+2 180 seat SnG on FullTilt. Currently have over 1/3 the chips in play with 6 left at the final table. I’ll post a bit more once it wraps up.

Well today I actually fired up FTP today to play a little bit of poker. Early in the morning I decided to play a little $5+.50 Omaha/8 Sit N Go. I by no means am an excellent Omatard player but boy did I feel dominating in this thing! It was typical in that mostly everybody at the table had no regard for their starting cards. With me only being in the hand with huge draws or near-nuts, it was actually very easy and I coasted to the win.

Later on, I decided to hop in one of the $10+1 donkaments that started at 4pm. There were 303 runners in this one, which is a field size that I enjoy. Just a shade over 4 hours later, here was the result:

That’s right, I actually final tabled! Overall it was a pretty typical deep run. I made one bad move and hit an A for my 3 outer (I had the guy covered), I made one great move for a ton of chips with about 30 left, and overall played very tight/agressive poker. I got slightly impatient when 3 handed after I had to make a laydown the previous hand against PokerStunna89, who ended up being a very solid player. The s00ted dude was a complete donk and I had seen him both raise and call all-in very light. So after he raised my BB on the button, I came over the top with KT. He called with Ax, I don’t hit, and I go home $363.60 richer. A little disappointed as I stayed in the top 10 for probably 3/4ths of the entire thing. However, I had taken a hit to my stack and was 17/20 at one point as well. It’s my first top 3 in awhile so it definitely feels good to get back on track.

Golfing for Dollars

Well, not exactly. Although I did in fact golf on Friday. That was the day that this years’ annual G1 (personnel section) golf tournament. They do it as a fund raiser every year. In addition to the golf there was also a silent auction of various pictures, guitars, and football goodies signed by famous people.

I ended up having a blast in spite of the 96 degree heat and our team not playing so well. It was pretty amazing that I ended up playing the best of the foursome despite having the least amount of golfing experience. My favorite shot was putting my tee shot on a par 3 within 10 feet of the cup using a 6 iron at about 175 yards out. That ended up being the only hole we would birdie all day. That’s pretty terrible for a scramble event. But as I said, I still had a good time and hope to start golfing on at least a semi-regular basis.
