Yummy coconut crusted chicken for dinner here tonight! Super easy meal, shredded coconut, corn starch, Panko bread crumbs, egg white and red pepper flakes. Quick brown in the pan and then right in the oven.

Well the Christmas Party Season has officially been kicked off! My company held a little get together for our customers today. It was nice, food was good, drinks started flowing at noon….. really nothing to complain about! Jason came over when he got out of work and met a few more of my work peeps and got some grub. Needless to say I didn’t have to cook dinner after our party grazing!

Tomorrow is party number two which is a customer party which I will “enjoy” so much……..

Sat night will be a fund one though. It’s friends of ours who are hosting and the whole crew will be there. The best part is the fact that our commute is 5 stories up in our high rise! More to report later. Jason has a work party tomorrow as well but he’s off so he won’t be going to that one but he has another one Tuesday next week.

Happy Holidays!

Well all this computer game stuff is about to make me puke so I thought I would post something a little less dorky! In a week we are off to Florida to see the families. Jason hasn’t met my family so this will be the big introduction. They are excited to meet their future son-in-law and my Papa is planning on bringing Jason out for some “getting to know you” time on the golf course.

We will be spending the first half of the trip with my family and then driving a couple hours away to see Jason’s family. I have met them before but it will be nice to see them again. It’s going to be a busy week!

This week included a killer grocery shopping trip. I swear our receipt was like two feet long! So I should have most everything on hand no matter what I want to make for awhile. So tonight I think I’m going to make my lovely fiancee a yummy meal since he has to work all day.

I have a pretty good idea of what I”m going to make but I won’t post it here yet as I want it to be a surprise for him. I’ll post the pics, food and results tomorrow!

Well, I have been a little neglectful of my blog lately, but a lot has been going on!!!

1. I got engaged! Jason proposed Sept 10th!
2. His parents where here for dinner on Thursday night. I cooked stuffed shells for them.
3. We went to San Francisco for a long weekend which was wonderful, but left us catching up on our sleep all week long!

You can check out Jason’s page for a link to some pics when his parents were here and they toured downtown DC for a bit. And when I go purchase a new cord for my camera I will download our San Fran pics!!

Sunday night, Stephanie and I went to see a concert at Merriwether Post Pavillion. It was my first time seeing a show there and the venue overall is quite nice. Parking was free and close-by, and the venue was huge. We did make the mistake of showing up only about 20 minutes before the concert started when we had lawn seating. So we squeezed into a very small spot near the back. You couldn’t actually see the performers on stage but there were a few giant screens we could see the action on.

The headliner was Kenny Chesney, with Sugarland and Pat Green opening. Overall it was a very good show. My only real complaint was that for the first two acts, the music and vocals were far too low compared to the bass and it was hard to make out the words during some of the songs. The sound folks seemed to fix that by the end but you would have thought it would have been taken care of during sound checks earlier in the day. Here are some blurry pictures that I took with my phone during the concert:

It’s hard taking a picture of yourself with a phone!

A pretty basic week. We actually had a break from the 100 degree summer heat and enjoyed jeans and sweat shirts this week!

8/20 – Nothing really original here, it was a LONG day and we were both beat!! So we ordered pizza!
8/21 – Jason made lasagna and it was really good!
8/22 – Seared tuna and chicken satays were delicious at McCormick & Schmicks
8/23 – Left over lasagna, I think I like it better left over
8/24 – Yummy sushi!!!
8/25 – BBQ chicken, baked potatoes, salad
