Well seeing as how Flastaff has thrown up his plans for Vegas, I guess I'll do the same. So here goes:
Wednesday: Land in Vegas around 5pm local time. If I can get to the strip fast enough may try to hit the 7pm Caesars' Tourney. This will definitely be pushing it. If not, I'll probably either donk it up with some small-stakes limit play at Hooters if there's a table going or walk across the street to MGM.
Thursday: Noon tourney at Caesars. Why? Becuase I've been following the readings of Arnold Snyder and his Poker Tournament Forumula. The Caesars tournies appear to offer great value as far as the amount of play involved per $$$ spent. I am in Vegas to hopefully make some money and don't want an online turbo SnG feel to a tourney that I enter. I'll probably head to the Orleans for the bowling get-together if I'm not a great table full of donkfish.
Friday: This will be my Rio day. I will be checking in to ensure that I'm locked into my seat. Probably will sit in some cash games or try some of the SnG sats. From what I hear those sats are pretty soft and it's easy to sell your seat for cash. My girlfriend gets into town later on in the day so I'll be joining her for dinner. Later on I plan on meeting up with as many other WPBTers as I can before I head off to bed relatively early for Vegas so that I can be ready for the WSOP event on Saturday.
Saturday: Wake up late. Eat a hearty breakfast. Head to the Rio for what I hope is a very long day of poker. On the off chance (actually a strong possibility) that I bust out early, I'll be spending the rest of the day by the pool and then heading to the Playboy Club with my girlfriend in the evening. She's bought a *very* special outfit for the occasion!
Sunday: Obviously I hope to still be in the WSOP event. If not I'll probably end up in the spa, playing some pai gow, or some other waste of my time. At this point I hope to be all pokerd out and already up for my trip.
Monday: Leave far too early in the morning. Hate it but I got way too good of a deal to pass up. I took Tuesday off work too so I don't really need this as a recovery day anyway.
Here's a little video from the dance last weekend.
Just ordered a new grill through Amazon. I love grilling and although our cast iron grill pan does an excellent job, it does get the place a bit smoky and is definitely too small at times. However, the new apartment building does not allow gas grills due to fire hazards. That's a huge bummer. So as a compromise, I ordered a George Foreman grill for out on the patio. We had noticed a bunch of other of these things on peoples' balconies and wondered what they were. The other night we were walking into Linens N Things and saw one sitting right out front! Thought about getting it then but decided to try and find a better price. Well, Amazon had it for a ton less and I get free shipping with my prime account. There's a bit of a back order on it but with the amount of money saved that's ok with me.

Just wanted to let everybody know that I've thrown up some new pictures from last weekends' Division Spring Formal. It was basically just an excuse for everybody at work to get dressed up for an evening out. It was a fun time out on the waters of the Potomac River aboard the dinner-boat Dandy. The complete set of pics are on my Flickr page if you want to view them.
It's an amazing day in a lot of ways. The sun is out and warm. I got out of work early. It's a long holiday weekend. I'm playing Limit Hold'em. Wait, what was that last part? Ah yes. I realize that many of you are thinking ,' brdweb, no-limit is where all the fish and action are!'
Well sure, there might be more tables and action out there in NL land. However I've come to realize that although I don't feel that I'm a bad NL player, I don't like the swings very much. That's probably why I enjoy MTTs so much. They let me use my NL skills but I have both a built-in stop loss amount and the opportunity for a big payday. When it comes to cash play though I just like to take advantage of others' mistakes slowly. Why take a risk that they'll hit their 3 outer on one hand when I'm pretty much guaranteed to get their chips slowly if we play long enough?
I deposited some cash on Stars so that I could take advantage of their 1 billionth hand reload bonus. That's another area where limit has the advantage, at least online. You can clear a bonus much faster playing limit. So I'm two-tabling 1-2 6-max tables and as I sat there I realized that stars actually still has plenty of fish playing limit poker! I had played a bit recently on FTP and didn't notice it to quite that extent although I was still ahead there.
I would have to assume that this holds true for live play as well. I know that a lot of folks think that online fish are bigger donkeys that live but I just always seem to see even worse play in a casino. I feel that it's because that when somebody takes the time to actually drive to a casino they really want to get in the action. Online, you can play at any time you want so you don't have that itch to play.
Pauly recently wrote about admitting that he's just a limit grinder and is not ashamed to admit it. Well put me into that category too.
