Monthly Archive for January, 2007
I've just upgraded the blog to the newest version of Wordpress. So the code is now standing at version 2.1. Everything appears to be in working order. Now I'm going to starting trying to figure out how the heck to get this thing looking the same in Internet Explorer as in Firefox, Opera, Safari, and every other browser out there.
I've started toting my things over to the new place slowly but surely today. I have until the end of next weekend to complete this process so I'm not really in a rush. I also need to paint. I'm hoping to get up relatively early tomorrow to paint the bedroom so that it will have time to dry by tomorrow afternoon. That is when I'll be heading over to Costco in order to pick up my new queen size mattress. They have quite the sale going on with a Sealy pillow-top going for only $539 for a queen set.
I have already ordered my sheets and pillowcases from Ralph Lauren and they should be here Monday. After then I will move the essentials such as clothes and computers. Today I took the doors off of the closet in my room as I plan on putting in a nice organizer and with the space being so small I wanted to save room instead of having the doors opening.
Dan already has the shared area in good order, having been there for almost a month now. He's not into cooking really so it looks like I will be providing more of the kitchen accessories and such. For those of you that don't know who Dan is, he is a coworker of mine and of course is now also a roommate. I don't see there being any problems on that front. Especially compared to the current roommate situation.
Once I get completely moved in then I will take pictures and post them to Flickr so that everyone can get a gander.

Well so far this year is basically the same as the last. Same job and all that stuff. However, things are starting to get interesting in these here parts. I'll be moving at the end of the month into a house with only ONE OTHER ROOMMATE! That in and of itself is something that I am looking forward to. Especially as I get along with said roommate. It will also provide me with room to enjoy myself. Stretch out on the couch to watch movies. Actually do some real cooking again. Let Lilly be able to run around instead of being cooped up in a small space.
Professionally it should be an interesting year as well. My bosses continue to put pressure on my state to get me promoted. I'm not holding my breath but it sure would be nice to have that happen. I will finally get a bonus for re-enlisting in the army for the second time this summer. It will be nice to pay down some of the debt and all that jazz. Plus by the end of the year I should have been accepted into the AGR program permanently. For those that don't know I'm basically a temp of sorts around here. Only on one year long orders at a time. Changing my status means I'm basically guaranteed a retirement check at the age of approximately 42, only 11 years hence.
I've also met somebody recently that is very special. It's still very early and you never can tell about these things. So we'll just see what happens with that.
So overall I'm happy with where most of my life is at right now and am looking forward to the upcomming year. Hopefully there will be some other excitement to surprise me!
