Shopping Style

Went out shopping tonight at the Fashion Center at Pentagon City. Originally intended to get shoes and a pair of pants. Ended up getting a nice pair of brown semi-dress / semi-casual brown leather loafer type things made by Steve Madden at Nordstroms. As I continued to look around I didn’t really see any pants I wanted. Think I need to hit up a Calvin Kline outlet. I really like the boot cut jeans that Becky had bought me and need to get another, dressier pair I think. So I’m wandering through Armani Exchange and see a knit blazer that caught my eye. It’s made out of a kind of material (polyester) you might think would be from under armor. Just very unique and I think will be a nice addition to the wardrobe.

Wings at Hard Times

This evening some of the boys and I will be venturing into the Clarendon neighborhood in Arlington. Why, you might ask? Well Wednesday night happens to be wing night at the Hard Times Cafe! I’m not one to usually pass up opportunities like this to gorge myself on tasty baby chickens doused in hot sauce.

By the way. If anybody out there is in the metro DC area. I’ve looked more into Lima since that’s where we are heading Friday night. The place does seem kind of hip and to my liking. If the music playing on their homepage that I’ve linked to is indicative of the DJ selections, then I’ll be happy.

Lima

No, not the city in Peru. Just a club/lounge/bar somewhere in DC where I am probably headed tonight. Apparently the DJ in the club portion actually spins deep house which I would be into. The word is that the crowd is very eclectic and worldly. We shall see how well I hang with the eurotrash!

Update: Actually it wasn’t tonight that we were heading downtown. That will be Friday. So it will be metro time. Tonight we hung at Zen, which is a new asian fusion type cafe next to Asian Bistro in Pentagon Row. Had some GREAT crab wontons and they have Yuengling on tap so I was happy.

New Camera

I recently bought a new digital camera. I hadn’t had one for quite awhile other than the one in my cell phone since Becky had one. I chose the Canon Powershot S2 because it’s a mid-level camera that has most of the features of a digital SLR but without the price. I haven’t taken many pictures with it yet but it also has a pretty decent video mode as well that’s only limited by the size of the memory card. Below is a sample video that I took yesterday.

Grey is a Wonderful Color

Grey’s Anatomy is one of my favorite shows on television. This past weeks’ episode was one of the best in a long time. It was a prime example of how the show has so many different character interactions and humorous situations. It goes to show how many weird situations life can put us in and the things that some people will forgive or put up with for love. Thank god for Tivo or else I would have missed it.

All by myself

Not that anybody actually reads this thing. But if you do and I haven’t talked to you yet, just letting you know that Becky and I have parted ways. No hard feelings or anything and it was definately her idea and not mine. But that’s the way things go. She and I have had plenty of good times in the past 6+ years that we’ve known each other and I will always wish her the best.

Fun With Germans

Yesterday Becky and I went to the Oktoberfest in Newark. As far as these things go it was fairly small in scale. But that did not mean there wasn’t a lot of fun to be had! I introduced Becky to real German potato salad. She was very impressed to say the least. We ended up bringing a big tub of it home with us. Other than that, I ate a nice bratwurst and some apple tort while she played it safe with barbecue chicken. I also got her to try my Paulaner Hefeweizen, which is a great take on the unique flavor of an unfiltered wheat beer.
