I definately needed this vacation that I’m currently on. Work had been getting me down a ton lately. Between general incompetance by others and being told what a good job I’m doing with no reward, I’m really getting fed up with it. Of course it doesn’t help that Becky lives two hours away. I’m really getting tired of not being with her full time, especially since I just found out today that I’m switching to a Sunday-Thursday schedule instead of the 4 on – 4 off one that I’m on now. I’ve been expecting this to happen for awhile now but the thought of fighting traffic to her place during rush hour every Thursday night for my ‘weekend’ with her is pissing me off.
Oh well, that’s the price I have to pay for wanting to keep my lifestyle and the career path that I’ve chosen for myself. I really am going to look more into the possibilty of becomming a recruiter for the Delaware National Guard though. Right now that looks like the only way that I’m going to be able to move to that area and keep my current military status. Better that though than taking a permanent position in DC and making her move there. I’d love to avoid that because I just can’t keep doing this part-time together thing forever.
