A newer and not as publicized movie from the American Pie folks. This is a romp with the nerdy virgin cousin of all the Stiffmeisters. He goes to visit his cousin at college and then proceeds to try and get laid, meet a bunch of naked college chicks, and also gets into plenty of altercations with midgets. Yes I said midgets and this movie has a ton of obscenely funny scenes involving them. A great pizza and beer watching flick. I highly recommend it.

Gears of War

Well last week I finally bought a new Xbox 360 game. I had been pretty engrossed with my sports games and so hadn’t thought to get one. However, Gears of War had gotten so many great reviews that I figured it would be a good one to get. It turns out that the game does indeed exceed expectations. For the most part, shooters on consoles don’t really thrill me. I much prefer using a mouse to play them such as you have on the PC. However if a game is done well enough then it can overcome this hurdle. The graphics in Gears is superb, the storyline pushes you along, and it flows very well. If you have a 360 and want to see what it can really do, this is a game to show off to your friends.


Meebo

Meebo is a nice little free web app that let’s you connect to all of the different IM systems at the same time. Since it’s web-based it probably can be used in most corporate situations where either you cannot install chat software or they have the ports for a chat services’ web interface blocked. I’m guessing that Meebo should work although your mileage may vary. If you look at the screenshot below it looks just like any other IM program and works that way as well. It’s free so go try it out!

Internet Explorer Help Needed!

If you know CSS really well. I could use a hand fixing the stylesheet for this site so that it works both in IE and Firefox. Personally I use Firefox and most of my friends do so that’s really the important thing. Plus the actual posts show up fine in IE, it’s just that the far right sidebar gets kicked to the bottom of the page. So if you’ve got skills, let me know!

I Love Netflix

Most people that know me know that I loves me some Netflix. If you’re a fan of movies or rent more than say two in a month from your local store really should give it a try. It just doesn’t get any easier. No late fees. You get to rate movies and see recommendations based on your ratings. You get to recommend movies to your friends on the site. It just really makes it enjoyable. I’ve put up a Netflix page linked at the top there where you can see what movies I currently have at home, the next 10 that I have in my rental queue, and also what Netflix is suggesting that I should see.

Fondue Rocks!

I would be remiss in not sharing my latest Melting Pot experience. The location in downtown DC is superb. It is located in Dupont Circle. That it was located right near the metro station was a big bonus so we took the train into town. That’s always a nice way to go. Anyway, their 4 course meal is called the Big Night Out which is the best way to go really. It’s a bit pricey but you get a 4 course meal that is delicious and you get to sample all of the different types of fondue that they offer. The outstanding part of this location is that they have a little nook with 4 tiny little tables for two. It’s actually walled off mostly from the rest of the restaurant and also has high booths so that you don’t see the patrons at the other tables. Dim lighting just sets it off and makes for a very romantic evening.

If you’ve never been to this place make sure to visit their website and look for a location near you. I promise that you will NOT regret it even if you stop in for dessert or the cheese.
